Australia M3 Wagyu Boneless Veal Rib & Vegetable Braise for Babies (10m+)
Wagyu Veal & Vegetable Braise
Wagyu isn't just for adults. The M3 marbling rating of this boneless veal rib means the meat has a higher proportion of fine intramuscular fat — the same fat that makes Wagyu famous for flavour and tenderness. When braised low and slow, this veal becomes impossibly soft and yields a rich natural broth.
Veal is younger beef — inherently more tender than adult cuts and easier for babies at the texture progression stage. Braised with butternut squash and carrot, the natural sweetness of the vegetables perfectly balances the richness of the meat.
Ingredients
Makes approx. 2–3 baby servings. Keep the braise liquid — it concentrates into a naturally flavourful, nutrient-rich sauce.
How to Make
Place veal rib, squash, and carrot in a small saucepan. Add water. Bring to a gentle simmer, then cover and braise on low heat for 28–30 minutes until the veal is tender and the vegetables are completely soft.
Remove the veal rib and confirm it is fully cooked through with no pink. Shred finely using two forks — braised Wagyu veal should pull apart very easily. Mash the braised vegetables with a fork.
Return shredded veal to the pot with the mashed vegetables and remaining braise liquid. Stir well over low heat for 1–2 minutes until evenly combined. Add a little more water if too thick.
Cool to a safe temperature. Serve 3–4 tablespoons. Refrigerate for up to 24 hours, or freeze in portions for up to 1 month.
Why M3 Wagyu Veal?
Wagyu's M3 marbling isn't just about restaurant prestige — for baby food, it means more omega-3-rich intramuscular fat, a more tender texture, and a naturally richer flavour that needs no added seasoning. Paired with two beta-carotene-rich vegetables, this is a premium-nutrition bowl.
Tips for Parents
The liquid left after braising is a concentrated, naturally flavourful broth. Use it to adjust consistency when combining — it adds depth and nutrition without any added seasoning.
Braised Wagyu veal should be fork-tender and pull apart easily after 28–30 minutes. If it resists shredding, simmer for another 5 minutes before checking again — tenderness is the cue, not the clock.
Vacuum-sealed for freshness. Best consumed within 3 months frozen. Thaw in the fridge overnight before use. The 55g pack makes a compact but nutrient-dense 2–3 portion batch.
Never add salt to baby food under 12 months. The natural richness of Wagyu marbling and the sweetness of butternut squash and carrot create a complete, satisfying flavour entirely on their own.
