Congee is one of the oldest and most trusted baby foods in Hong Kong and across Asia — and Wagyu veal takes it to an entirely new level. The M3 marbling of this veal rib dissolves into the congee as it cooks, adding a silky richness and depth of flavour that plain rice congee simply cannot match.

Carrot cooked down into the congee adds natural sweetness, vibrant colour, and a rich supply of beta-carotene. At 12 months, babies are ready for this heartier, more flavourful texture — and this bowl delivers the complexity their developing palates are ready to explore.

🍚
Short-Grain White Rice
3 tbsp, rinsed
🥕
Carrot
60g, peeled & finely diced
💧
Water
350ml

Makes approx. 2–3 baby servings. Add a splash of water when reheating to restore silky congee texture.

How to Make

1
Steam Veal

Steam the M3 Wagyu veal rib for 25–28 minutes until fully tender and cooked through. Confirm no pink at the centre. Shred finely using two forks — the Wagyu veal should pull apart easily.

2
Cook Congee

Rinse rice and add to a saucepan with finely diced carrot and 350ml water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat and simmer 25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until rice breaks down into silky congee.

3
Combine

Stir shredded veal into the congee. Mix well over low heat for 2 minutes until the veal is evenly distributed and warm throughout.

4
Cool & Serve

Cool to a safe temperature. Serve 4–5 tablespoons. Refrigerate for up to 24 hours, or freeze in portions for up to 1 month. Add a splash of water when reheating to restore the silky texture.

Why Wagyu Veal + Carrot Congee?

Congee is Asia's most trusted comfort food for babies — and this version uses Wagyu veal's natural marbling to create a depth of flavour that makes carrot congee taste like something special. Iron, omega-3, beta-carotene, and easily digestible starch — all in one bowl.

Wagyu Flavour
The M3 marbling of Wagyu veal dissolves during cooking to deliver natural richness and depth. Even in simple congee, the difference is unmistakable — a bowl that satisfies fully without any added seasoning.
🩸
Heme Iron
Veal rib provides concentrated heme iron to support brain development, cognitive function, and healthy blood formation through the critical first year.
🥕
Beta-Carotene
Carrot cooked into congee breaks down its cell walls, making beta-carotene more bioavailable than raw carrot — a Vitamin A precursor for healthy vision and immune development.
🍚
Congee Digestion
The extended cooking of rice into congee breaks down starch into easily digestible forms — gentle on developing digestive systems and quickly absorbed for sustained energy and growth.

Tips for Parents

Stir the Congee

Stir the congee every few minutes as it cooks on low heat — this prevents the rice from sticking to the bottom and helps the carrot break down into the congee for an even, silky texture.

Carrot Size Matters

Cut carrot into small, fine dice so it cooks through completely and integrates smoothly into the congee. Larger pieces may remain firm and create an uneven texture for your baby.

Storage

Vacuum-sealed for freshness. Best consumed within 3 months frozen. Thaw in the fridge overnight before use. Add a splash of water when reheating — congee thickens as it cools.

No Salt Needed

The Wagyu veal's natural fat and the sweetness of cooked carrot create a complete, satisfying flavour without any added salt. Always avoid adding sodium to baby food — a baby's kidneys are not yet equipped to process it.
