Canada Wild Lobster Tail & Cauliflower Purée for Babies (12m+)
Lobster Tail & Cauliflower Purée
Lobster is a shellfish and a common food allergen. Introduce separately for the first time, offer a small amount, and observe for 3 days before introducing other new foods. Watch for signs of allergic reaction. If your baby has a family history of shellfish allergy, consult your paediatrician first.
Canada's cold Atlantic waters produce some of the world's finest lobster — sweet, rich, and with a clean ocean depth that sets it apart from warm-water alternatives. Wild caught off the coasts of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, Canadian lobster is prized globally for its dense, meaty tail and naturally buttery sweetness.
Cauliflower is the ideal partner — its mild, cream-coloured flesh blends to an almost silken texture, providing the perfect neutral canvas that allows the lobster's extraordinary flavour to dominate. The result is one of the most luxurious, protein-rich purées in the entire Baby Portion Collection.
Ingredients
Makes approx. 1–2 baby servings. Do not freeze once made — refrigerate and use within 24 hours.
How to Make
Thaw lobster tail if frozen. Place in a steamer basket over boiling water. Steam for 8–10 minutes until the shell turns bright red and the meat is fully opaque. Cool slightly, then cut the shell lengthwise and extract the lobster meat. Check for shell fragments.
Add cauliflower florets and 200ml water to a saucepan. Simmer for 10–12 minutes until cauliflower is completely soft. Reserve cooking liquid.
Blend lobster meat, cooked cauliflower, and 3–4 tablespoons of cooking liquid until completely smooth and creamy. Add breast milk if needed to adjust consistency.
Cool to a safe temperature. Offer 2–3 tablespoons to start. Refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Do not freeze this purée once made.
Why Lobster Tail + Cauliflower?
Canada wild lobster is among the most protein-dense, B12-rich, and naturally flavourful shellfish available. Cauliflower's silky, neutral texture creates the perfect blank canvas — letting the lobster's extraordinary Atlantic sweetness speak for itself. The result is one of the most nutritionally impressive, gourmet-level meals in the collection.
Tips for Parents
Shellfish is one of the most common food allergens. Introduce lobster for the first time as a standalone meal. Give a small amount (1–2 teaspoons) and wait 3 full days before introducing any other new foods. Watch for hives, facial swelling, or breathing difficulty. If your baby has a family history of seafood or shellfish allergy, consult your paediatrician before introducing.
After extracting the lobster meat from the tail, run your fingers carefully through the meat before blending. Lobster tail shells can leave small fragments — a 10-second check ensures the purée is completely safe for your baby.
Vacuum-sealed lobster tail: best consumed within 3 months frozen. Thaw in the fridge overnight. Once cooked and blended, do not refreeze. Refrigerate finished purée and use within 24 hours — lobster texture deteriorates on refreezing and reheating.
Canada wild lobster carries a natural sweetness and mild ocean salinity that perfectly seasons this purée. Cauliflower's subtle richness provides depth without any competition. No added salt, butter, or seasoning is required — this is naturally complete as it stands.
